After a decade of the Trans Elands 160km extreme event, we are introducing an exciting new format:
The Trans Elands 100, 100km of Mountain Biking Bliss in the Gamtoos River Valley (near Jeffreys Bay)!
Why 100km? Simple: everyone wants that coveted 100km milestone on their cycling resume; And completing a race a few km short of 100km just doesn’t cut it!
But the benefits don’t stop there. The event will still feature a circular route, starting and finishing at the historic Gamtoos Ferry Hotel. The scenic route with exclusive access through farmlands and citrus orchards, winds its way along the Gamtoos River to the south of Hankey and Patensie. Riders will appreciate the total elevation gain of less than 1300m, with the only significant climb being the notorious “Never Ender”.
